Spring Medical Systems Sets the Standard for Electronic Health Records for Small-to-Medium Sized Medical Practices; Continues Strong Momentum with Record-Breaking Sales and Revenue Growth

Company Exceeds Sales Forecast and Creates Key Industry and Customer Partnerships

February 5, 2008 - Houston, TexasSpring Medical Systems, a leading provider of electronic health records (EHRs) for small- and medium-sized medical practices, today announced continued strong demand for its SpringCharts® solutions and record revenue growth.

Spring Medical Systems reported that sales for Q4 2007 increased almost 100% over fourth quarter sales in 2006. And, based on the current sales pipeline, 2008 growth is expected to be even more dramatic.

In early 2007, Spring Medical Systems released SpringCharts Version 9 (V9), an upgrade to the company’s flagship EHR solution, further demonstrating its dedication to offering an affordable EHR that enables physicians to increase efficiency, reduce costs and provide better patient care. V9 users are now able to experience improved functionality and usability with the help of features like SpringCharts OffSite™ Remote Access – a completely new approach to making EHRs accessible in real-time without the need to continuously “synch up.”

“Spring Medical Systems continues to succeed by allowing physicians to customize their EHRs to the unique needs of their medical practice,” said Jack Smyth, president and CEO of Spring Medical Systems. “Our spectacular growth in 2007 shows that our continued focus on providing a robust suite of products at an affordable price is what small- and medium-sized practices are looking for.”

Customer Wins
While Spring Medical Systems experienced rapid growth in 2007 among its core constituency of small- and medium-sized medical practices, the company also added several new and distinctive customers in late 2007. New customers included a cancer clinic owned by a regional hospital in Puerto Rico, a regional hospital in Utah, which includes a bi-directional lab interface, and a medical residency program associated with a major medical center in Georgia.

Partnerships
In 2007, Spring Medical Systems partnered with Medical Arts Press to develop and implement a marketing campaign for their Medisoft customers. Medical Arts Press is a trusted supplier of a wide variety of products to over 250,000 medical practices across the U.S. and one of the largest resellers of Medisoft software. The two companies will jointly market SpringCharts to these practices via a multi-level campaign including direct mail and email, a joint website, and materials designed to educate doctors on EHRs.

In addition, Spring Medical Systems partnered with McGraw-Hill, who is currently printing the first edition of an EHR textbook featuring SpringCharts. The textbook will be used in 600 community colleges and technical schools to train medical assistants and other staff members. Spring Medical Systems is confident that this textbook will lead to future sales as medical students begin to enter the workforce.

Spring Medical is also rapidly expanding its partnerships with Practice Management System (PMS) software and other complementary vendors via its Certified Interface Partner (CIP) program. CIP partners link their products to SpringCharts via a certified HL7 interface to enable practices to better manage their data across disparate systems and increase efficiency and data integrity.
