| SpringCharts is written in Java and therefore requires the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to run on any platform. To check your version of Java, follow these three simple steps: 1. Open a Terminal.Windows: Open a Command Prompt (sometimes called MS-DOS Prompt). You can find this program by clicking on the Start menu on the lower left side of your screen. Select Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt (or MS-DOS Prompt). Macintosh: Open a Terminal. You will find this program in your Application folder inside the Utilities folder. Linux: Open a Terminal Emulation Program window. 2. Type the following:
3. Press the Enter key.Your computer will tell you which version of Java is currently installed. Below is the output from a typical Windows computer:
Note: this screen is white on Macintosh computers. If you do not have the JRE 1.5 on your system, you should download and install it now. To install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) on your systems, select the JRE for your operating system from this list: NOTE: SpringCharts V9.0 is not yet compatible with JRE1.6. |
